Ready to go...but still waiting.

Enough with the "no exercise" already! I'm starting to get antsy - ready to run, ready to do Pilates. I walked with Sonya at the track last night (in the pouring rain) for 45 minutes. I felt good during, and just a little sore later. This morning I taught Pilates again, trying very hard not to do the exercises, but just to talk through them. I did one or two of a couple and am a little sore now. I know, I know. I shouldn't have tried any. If the rain lets up a little this afternoon, then I'm going to take the dog on our normal long and hilly walk and see how that goes. I am reluctantly planning to walk during both our club runs this weekend, teach Pilates (talking only) again Monday, then finally see the doctor Tuesday and see if I can get cleared to run.

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter and eats lots of chocolate eggs and bunny ears!

You know to run in the pouring rain is bad enough, but to walk in it? I question your sanity.

And Yes, I missed you guys yesterday, but it was nice to leave at 6:20 to get the track by 6:30 rather than leave at 5:45 to make it on time. It was also nice to be home by 7:40 as well, but not so nice to skip the coffee and conversation. Trade offs.

Good going, Michelle, take it easy, you, don't look at some insane people, they are bad examples...and they pay for it:)

take it easy on yourself! You'll get back in shape!

Take it easy, you will get better and be back at it in no time.

Isn't it funny. We can slack and not exercise but the minute someone tells us we can't exercise it becomes the only thing we want to do?????

As already stated, you will be there in no time. Truly. I started running again a month after I'd had surgery. I didn't run fast or far, but I did run.

As for that chunky feeling. Well, it may NOT be all in your head. After that kind of surgery, our abdomens can stay bloated for up to 8 weeks. Yes, sorry, 8 weeks. But then, through almost no effort of ours, it goes away! Yay!

So, hang in there. Stay patient. You are doing great. So glad to hear you are feeling better. I'm sure it will translate into your running as well.

Just don't do anything silly. Surgery is a big thing, a it takes time to recover from that, and you definitely don't want a setback from pushing yourself too early.

It's hard to hold back when you really want to bolt forward, isn't it? Hang in there and you'll be back to running in no time!
