Pollyanna is Back!

Thanks to everyone for supporting me when I was stressing yesterday. I'm feeling better and more optimistic about things today - my Pollyanna worldview is back. I've decided to assume that it is regular old iron deficiency anemia until told otherwise. I am hoping that the numbers were dropping just because I've been so sick and haven't been able to eat well. My stomach is settled enough to tolerate a multivitamin, so I'm taking those, plus focusing on iron rich foods - those that I can eat right now. After the surgery, I'll be able to get a lot more of those in.

There is no sense in worrying about something that I can't control. If it turns out to be more than I think, then I will deal with it.

Again, thanks for listening. I apologize for being a drama queen - but I will admit that when I'm stressed I talk. And talk and talk. (Poor Eric!) Fortunately, I have wonderful friends and family who are willing to listen. Surprisingly, I've found this blog therapeutic too - just getting it out, whether it is read or not works. I've never been one of those people who write in a journal, so I'm surprised that I like this. Anyway, it helps.

As for running? A very nice run with Emily, Rick and Janghae today. Nice easy pace, great conversation. About 53 minutes. And once again, a really great time at coffee! Tomorrow is Pt. Defiance Park, Five Mile Drive. I love the park - old growth forest, with glimpses of the Sound. My friend Barb swears that there is more oxygen in the air when you are deep in the park. I don't know if it's true, but it is beautiful and restores the soul. I'm really looking forward to that!

Sounds like som great running! I like that extra oxygen thought - I need to run there!

Keep up the attention on that iron - it's pretty hard to run well when your blood can't carry enough oxygen, eh??

Oh, I love Point Defiance. Johnny and I stayed just up the street from it for about a month, eight or nine years ago. (On Pearl Street, I belive.)
