Y Run Club Marathoners

I'm in the midst of baking cookies for this weekend's CCC 100. I figure I can pop back and forth between kitchen and computer while they bake. Our running club is managing the Hyak aid station at mile 53, thus the cookies. I won't be there though, because I have a full-time gig as crew, and Eric is pacing. Sonya will be my sidekick. Should be a fun weekend of forest service byways, peeing in the woods and no sleep!

I am also trying to pull together last minute details (which are only last minute because I didn't take care of them) for the Grande Ass, which is next weekend. Yee-hah!

Riley got off to college on Monday. I didn't think it would be hard to see him drive off, but it was. In fact, I was pretty emotional. I was holding up okay till he gave me a kiss and a hug good-bye, then gave Eric one, and turned to leave. He paused at the door, looked back at me, and rushed back to give me another hug and kiss, and a lump the size of Texas formed in my throat. I managed to hold it together till he was out of sight, and then I cried. I'm excited for him, but a little melancholy about my boys being gone. Riley has settled into his dorm and is having fun, and as a bonus, we got to see Web this week. He's visiting friends in the area and we got to go have dinner with him one night. Really, life is good, isn't it?

oooh, I didn't know you got to see Web too! I got a lump just reading about Riley. *sniff*

You're a good mama bear. =)

Have a great weekend at CCC! I like the happy rob pictures - I'm hoping you can capture some more of those moments this weekend. ;-)

Looks like great times.

We're moving the girls back to school this weekend. So I can relate to the emotions you express. It's been such fun to have them with us over the summer. Sometimes just the added activity in the house is comforting for some reason.

This move requires a truck and trailer since one of them is moving into an apartment. I have a feeling I'll have something to blog about after the experience.

I really enjoyed the pictures - they tell the story so well. What are those things you guys wear on your ankles?

Ah, kids. They all leave eventually, don't they? Not that I can imagine it with mine just yet.

Great post. The one of all of you in your head lamps is especially sexy. But then again, I have this thing about head lamps now...

Does it get hot there? LOL... The young ones are all grown up now and off to college. Le sigh :-)

I would freak out in that tunnel -- I'm claustrophobic. Otherwise, it looks like a beautiful course. My turn to have a good cry in the car on the way home from college this weekend.

Didn't get a chance to read your whole report, but your photos make it look like you had a blast! Or at least they make me want to run this race.
