Postcard from Donner

We've been at the cabin at Donner Lake with our friends for two nights now. We got Karen Wiggens (also running at WS) set up at the state park a half mile away and have had her over at the cabin with us. Last night we had quited the experience walking Karen home in the dark - five of us, one flashlight, and a wrong turn off the path. Fun!

Right now a homemade salsa, pico de gallo, and fajitas are in progress - help along by raspberry margaritas. Jimmy and Suzy are the hosts with the most!

Karen, Eric and I went to the first talk for the race this afternoon. It was really interesting and we are getting pretty excited.

I ran five miles this morning - to the state park, where I ran into Karen twice, then on a loop through the park and back to the cabin. I followed that up with a soak in the cold lake. I stood on the ladder of the dock to mid-thigh.

Eric is running easy tomorrow, then we have a full day of events at Squaw Valley. We'll be moving to Jimmy and Suzy's house in Reno, and will be picking Steve and Rob up Friday.
Next update...race report!

You guys should feel like celebrities! I've been bragging all about all y'all, including Karen, all week! It's so exciting to hear about what's going on, almost like we're on the sidelines mid-race! =)

My very best wishes for you, my friend, and for your husband. He's a superhero for sure!
