Two Stars!

I didn't realize that the marathon last weekend would bump me into the two star category of the Maniacs! I'm sure I knew it once, but I got distracted by the goal of hitting three stars and I guess I thought I'd just make a leap from one to three. So there you have it. I'm a two-star, silver level Maniac. Whoo-hoo!

The race results are posted here. I was 18/19 in my age group and 399/458 overall. Several of you have been telling me that I can't hang on to my backofpack title, but I proved you wrong! I am still a back-of-packer.

Toe and foot report: things are looking better and I'm going to try running tomorrow in my new smart wool socks.

I've been wanting to put up some race photos, but most of the pictures were taken with Melissa's camera, and she's gone for spring break. So instead I will leave you with the only race photo I have:

That's great news about the two stars and all but I think you just proved that there are some things one shouldn't see on the internet.

I think you should try wearing shoes the next time you run a marathon. Please please no more toe pictures!

I think the vows said "for better or for worse". I interpet that to mean: Love the woman...love the toes. Besides, think of all the blister experience I will have to offer when you need it at WS!

Please take this off, Right Now! Congratulations on the two stars.

Yuck, absolutely disgusting! That's downright gross to put out there! And they think the porn sites on the web are bad!

Congrats on the PR and the two stars. Hope the toe heals soon.

You should at least have put a "viewer discretion advised" warning or something.

Congrats on star #2.

Congrats on the PR and stars, I knew you were a star, but a two-star, wow ;-)

I see by your toe that you earned the second star through toughing it out.

Ewwwww! Yuck! Oh! Ouch! Did you have to do that? (yes, I know, I would have done the same).

Congratulations on your second star, and the fact that you did it with THAT toe just raises the admiration level.

Now, I'm happy. Thank you so much and once more, congratulations on a superb effort.

Yikes! Take care of that toe!

The stars, I'm sure, have a way of balancing it all out, though. ;)

Ugh! No offence, but they should have given you an honorary third star for that. I might put that skewered pig header back on again if this pic remains.

Yeah, that's a good one. I had 3 inch blisters on the balls of both feet like that after Honolulu. But I had the good manners not to show picutres of my wounded feet on the internet. (Actually, that was 1980 and there was only text back then.) Get some of the blister tape with the little holes in it.

Congrats on the PR and new star. I’m gonna have to work hard to keep up with you.

OMG Put a band aid on that! Ouch!

Congrats on the two stars!

I think I'll hold off my words...but good job on second star. I hope the intention of getting more weares off - it did for me, but then again, many still try and get them. May be when my kids are in college and my husband dumps me, I'll come back:)
I presume this doesn't hurt anymore, only first couple of days, right?

oh, my....Andy Williams never had toes looking like that!! Lets hope the new socks help!!

So cool to be to 2 stars!!!!

Thanks for the second Garmin tip. I also discovered my headlamp helps to see the display.

That's one nasty toe to put on the internet. I have nasty feet, but thankfully no blisters like that one. Perhaps after my marathon this year!

Nice job on another marathon and Maniac star for you. As for the toe - it looks great. Time to see if you can develop another blister under the blister that you already have. Thanks for the picture.

Oh my, Michelle, that's one big owie. Glad you got a PR out of it. And congratulations on going double star. The news just keeps getting better and better on your blog.

Yee-ha keep em'coming!
Jeepers creepers....you can't have two stars without a few blisters along the way!

Congratulations

Michelle,

Well, clearly, I have now seen it all. That's right foul, I tell you.

Really, though, are you okay? Looks painful because it's on the bottom, does it hurt with every footstep? So sorry and I hope it heals quick...

Congratulations also on the new 2-star ranking, exciting!

Yes, you should definitely come to Bozeman (and Yellowstone) for some training and racing. I have the open door policy for anyone I can take trail running. :)

Happy blister healing,

I see that you are very close to half way in your weight loss goal. Superb! How are you feeling about it?

Oouch! I did not know you can get these from running. I would have never started running. I mean the blisters, of course. I did not know about maniac stars either. I guess those are more desirable. The process of my education never ends.

Congratulations, happy maniac!

Ouch! I may have shared this with you before, but have you tried BlisterShield (the powder form)? It is truly amazing stuff!

Congrats on the 2 star status! You are my new hero! :)

I think the picture is worse than how your toes looked tonight. Less dangling skin today, just new pink skin!

WOW. You didn't even need to do your normal MM#402 signoff, that pic definitely said enough!

We've been around long enough to expect these kinds of photos from you, and I still wasn't prepared! On top of that, I'm heading to bed...the nightmares I'll have!

Congrats on the 2 stars. 3 is right around the corner!

I'm glad you posted a picture of your toe - a blister like that speaks VOLUMES about the accomplishment that put it there! So what if it's more than a little disgusting? A blister like that needs to be recorded for posterity!! :o)
