Ain't been ate up yet...
For once in my running career, I exercised all due caution, passed on my Thursday morning run and planned on the track option for the evening instead. My original plan for Thursday was five in the morning and three at the track, so I figured I'd better get in an eight mile run. I left work a little early so I could fit in a longer run. I left the house, ran a mile loop, then ran the four miles to the track. I ran onto the track and could see the group at the other end. Once I got there, Rick and I ran out to the park next door and did the figure-eight loop through the park, then back to the track. I ended up with 8.5 total.
Then I decided that since we are heading up to Bellingham for Eric to run Chuckanut, I'd best get my Saturday run in today - because Steve's wife Lorri and I are going to see the racers off, then spend some time shopping, having coffee and lunch. I'm not even going to try to get a run in. So this morning, I went to the Y, taught the 6 am Pilates class, then came home, had a quick snack and went out for another five mile run. My legs are still a little tired on any hill, no matter how slight, from the fairly hilly 20 we did Sunday. I ended the week today with a total of 44.5 miles. Next week I'll drop it a little, then a little more the week after - the taper to the marathon.
Tonight should be fun - Steve, Lorri, Eric and I, and Olga are all staying at my parents house - and my parents won't be there. I guess it's a good thing that we are a bunch of runners - no parties and early to bed. Otherwise, who knows what might happen with the parents gone!
Oh, and for the record, the cougar hasn't been seen since Tuesday. I hope that means that Meghan is right and it has moved on.
MM#402 signing off from the land of gray skies, where the road trips are many, the runners are ready and the races are plentiful.

Sounds like a good day in BoP-land.
Who knows what mins/mile a cougar might inspire one to?
Have fun everyone!
I really like that southern accent! Party at your mom's place, eh? Woo hoo! You guys have a reputation as a bunch of homewreckers!! LOL.
I can't believe it's been beautiful for 3 weeks in a raw, and it will rain heavily tomorrow in Bellingham!! I hoped I got my yearly dose of downpour at the Hagg...
I am sleepy, can you come and drive me up? :) see you guys tonight
Have fun you crazy kids!
I'll see if I can rustle the kitty out of hiding tomorrow. Maybe I can talk Rick and Jenny into wearing raw meat around our waists and heading into the woods. Have fun in Bellingham.
Leaving town sounds like a great way to avoid encounters with the big cat. Have a safe trip.
Have a great weekend.
Michelle- Hope your day shopping went well. Even without parties, Iknow what kind of trouble the 5 or you could get into!!!!! Rick, Rob and Emily/Meghan and I ran this morning. We braved the Cougar trails. I figured I could yell and beat it off. We did hear a suspicious sound that caused us to pick up the pace a bit. :) All in all it was a good 8.5. Can't wait to hear the Chuckanut tails!
Jenny
Hopefully it's bye-bye kitty! : )
Discretion is the better part of valor!
Have a great run and a lot of fun.
I guess there was no need to put the neighborhood on party alert, as we do here when parents go out of town for the weekend! Glad the cat's moved on.
Great job with the runs. Hope you had a good time partying w/o the parents!
I'm glad you've avoided being eaten - yikes! Enjoy your weekend! :)
