Weird List

Olga tagged me. I'm supposed to tell you six weird things about myself. Let's see.

1) Even before I lost toenails I had toe issues. I can't stand to have anyone touch my toes.
2) I wear my socks inside out because the seams bother me (kind of goes with the whole toe thing).
3) When I'm teaching my Pilates class, if I look down and see that the edge of my mat is not lined up with the wood floor, I have to adjust it till it is. It drives me nuts if it is crooked.
4) I have an innate sense of misdirection (just so you know, this one was suggested by Eric).
5) I can't tell my left from my right. I know you can make an "L" shape to tell, but if I do that, then I can't think which way an "L" is supposed to go. I have to look for my wedding ring to know.
6) I married Eric. (Just so we're clear here, this is one of those frequent attempts to bug Eric!)

I wore a water bottle/fanny pack kind of thing on my run this morning. We have one that I bought for my training runs back in 2001 when I did my first half. I'm not sure it's seen any use since then. I dug it out and ran with a full bottle as a test. I think it'll do - but I'm still not sure whether I want it or the handhelds. Both yesterday and today I meant to carry the handhelds for practice, but couldn't talk myself into it. That prompted me to try the other method this morning. I think I'll pack up both and have the option of switching each time I loop if I want to.

I didn't really taper this week - I have 23 miles in already. I ran twice today - five this morning and three at the track tonight. I was chastising myself for even going out to run tonight, and trying to figure out why I did it. In the end, I think it's because I've been thinking of Pigtails as a 20 mile training run, and you don't taper for those. Eric and I had a good discussion on the way home about running the 50K - about how the third loop is all attitude. I am certain I can do it, I think I am going to do it, but since I know myself so well, and know my own inability to quit when I need to, I am reminding myself that this is a 20 mile run, with an option to do more.

Till next time, MM#402

Your WEIRD..lol we are suppose to follow up this tagg by calling you a weirdo. Socks inside out huh -- all your runs are inside out socks... wow... too funny about the mat having it lined up with the floor...I call that a Mr. MONK MOMENT ( i have those )

Too funny how we ALL have little WEIRD things that we DO. Did you read LISA B's post yet it was really good...she says she is FANTASTICALLY WEIRD :-)

Yeah, you're weird. Good luck on Saturday. I can't wait to hear all the details.

Good luck on Saturday - I wish I was able to join you, I love Orca's Island. Just remember the third lap is all about not getting lost and attitude.

Feet--I LOVE 'em! Foot rubs, anything!! Good luck this weekend...whew.

Well, if the third loop is all attitude, I would be careful discussing that with Eric. It's obvious from the comments he puts on my blog that he has a bad attitude and is suspect at best ;-)

Well that is weird, a little crazy and determined. Basically, nothing new. :)
Good luck on however many loops you do!

I have an issue with mat lined up as well:)
Don't think about third loop, just set out and go, and don't stop:) You are strong and capable and you'll have fun enjoying the aftermath!

Isn't taper a type of fish or fresh water turtle? I like the two run per day thing. You're motivating me to run to my car and go hit Jack-in-the-Box.

This thing with the toes is understandable, but marrying Eric... hmmm...

Make sure you listen to your body on that run. Don't do that extra loop just because it's there. Do it only if you are ready.

As for the inside-out socks. . . did you know that Nike makes a sock with the seams on the outside. They are the only socks I wear to run now. So, I wouldn't put that in the weird category. :) In fact, your weirdness is pretty normal. You should be relieved. ;)

I'm with ya on the lined up mat and no toe touching and not knowing right from left....

Have fun on your run this weekend! I like that mindset...20 mile run with option for more.

#4 and #6 compliment one another beautifully. Hope you have a great run. I'm betting you'll go long.

I'd better get my weird list up soon. All the good ones are being taken already.

Have a great run on Orcas this weekend. Enjoy the scenery.

I can relate to #3, even though I don't do Pilates.

Good luck on your race! Whatever you decide to do is the right decision.

Funny, I don't find anything weird about those things. Okay, I have to stay neutral with #6, I haven't met Eric yet ;-)

oh good, I'm not the only one who can't tell L from R even when making an "L" (cuz what way does an "L" go again?)
