BREAKING NEWS.....

Eric made it in to WESTERN STATES 100!

He put his name in a while back, but chose not to mention it to anyone but Rob and Steve. Eric wanted to wait and see what happened. I think we are both in shock!

Olga, I'm going to need crewing lessons.

Hey, I forgot to ask, does this mean I get to be a pacer/crew?

Synonyms for maniac in the thesaurus: crackpot, cuckoo, flake, freak, loon,madwoman...and also enthusiast...yes that sounds like a better match for you. Congrats to you on becoming who you are.

This is going to be such an incredible adventure - for both of you! I had to go double-check what exactly the Western States 100 is more than once - I could not absorb all the information at once, and I am lightyears removed from all this. I understand why you used the word "shock."

Congrats on becoming a marathon maniac! Congrats to Eric as well!

1,050 runners or so applied, 391 names were chosen; he's one lucky guy! It's funny a few years ago I would never had considered someone lucky to be chosen to run 100 miles over mountains = ) Congratulations & happy training

Hi Michelle,

I just made a POST on FOOOD, what you Runners like to EAT. What gives you the FUEL your body needs!

If you can stop by when you get a chance and share a little bit on what ENERGIZES you that would be great...or anyone READING this--LOL

Lot's to learn here but WILL learn it and DO IT,

Bob

Wow, other than someone like... Dean Karnazes, I don't actually "know" someone doing WS 100. That is so amazing!

Congrats to Eric! I met him during my morning commutes to Seattle, well before even knowing about the whole MarathonManiacs thing. The guys and girls on the train who've gotten to know him are going to flip out when they hear about the WS100!

Congrats to you too BTW on recently becoming a MM! I'm trying to break into the MM via Van's race on the 23rd and the Western WA Fat Ass on January 6th.

Good luck to the both of you on this as racer and crew! :-D
