Day of Rest

Tomorrow will be a day of rest - complete rest, not even Pilates. Those days don't come around very often. The best part is, with no running on the schedule and no Pilates class to get to, I can actually sleep in! Of course, since I usually get up at 4:45, sleeping till 6:00 or 6:30 is sleeping in for me.

Mostly I got on here for a quick update - CT scan came back fine. Apparently having a bicuspid aortic valve increases the chances of having a thoracic aortic aneurysm, and that is what the CT scan is looking for. Whew! It's good to know it's normal. I am sure I've never had this test before, though the cardiologist said I have. I think I would have remembered the whole dye injection thing because it felt so strange. Oh, well. Next test will be in the spring - an echocardiogram where they measure to see if the leakage has increased. I have that one every year or two.

I felt lethargic on our run this morning. It's not that my legs were tired, I just felt tired. Sonya suggested that it could be a result of the test yesterday. I have no idea if that could do it, but it makes me think that having tomorrow off will be a good thing.

Remember Jenny, who just ran Haulin Aspen with me? She did the Danskin Tri this weekend (yes, a short six days after the half) and did really well! How cool is that? And she's going to run 18 with us on Friday (which is a short five days after the tri). Go Jenny!

Monday: rest and Pilates
Tuesday: 8 miles, 1:39:29, avg hr: 137, high: 159
Wednesday: 8 miles (hill run), 1:41:02, avg hr: 141, high: 164

That's fantastic news! I look forward to the day when I'm in good enough shape where I can do those kinds of runs. With such inspiration, I know its not far down the road, I have a lifetime, after all...

You normally get up at 4:45 a.m.?

Sheesh! That's almost as crazy as trying to say "thoracic aortic aneurysm" a hundred times fast.

Oh yah.. and welcome to Slacker-ville. A day isn't really long enough to get to know this place though... ;-)

Good news on the scan Michelle. I'm anxious to see if you actually make today a rest day - rest doesn't seem to fit in the equation of your life!

Okay, since you used such big words, I didn't know if you were saying your brain is normal or your heart is, and just knowing you for a week now, I can't be sure either way. ;-)
I'm so glad to know you're a healthy girl, and still logging some pretty hefty miles, at a pretty great pace too. Great job, Michelle! Hope you enjoyed your "off" day.

glad the scan didn't coem up with anything negative! The dye is weird, I had that for a bone scan. I thought it was weird that they inject "radio active" material in you :) I think it was Barium or something.

I'm so glad to hear the test went well. Enjoy your rest - it is well deserved and no better way to enjoy than sleeping in! Have a good weekend.

That is good about the scan :) I've certainly had a few of those before but don't remember if they made me tired..
