Waiting a Little Bit More

I had the second HIDA this morning. The radiology tech was surprised to see me, and went back to look at the results from last time. He said they were "very abnormal". Kind of strange - the doctor said "just below normal". The tech kind of laughed and said he guessed the doctor was taking a "belt and suspenders" approach. Oh, well. I should have some kind of an answer tomorrow afternoon, or Thursday at the latest. I had a blood draw yesterday in the left arm, and the IV in today in the right arm, so I'm sporting bruises on both sides - lovely. They are mostly covered at this time of year, except for during Pilates. Then the whole class gets to enjoy them!

I didn't run today - no food or water from 8:00 last night till after the test today. I might be able to run on empty, but I can't come in from a run and not drink something. I don't think I'll make it up this afternoon either - I think I'll take it as an extra rest day. (See Olga's post for today). For today, I'll just rely on my walk with the dog. Sunday's run on the Soos Creek Trail was fun - it was nice to hit it from a new direction. I'll get back to my usual schedule tomorrow.

Thinking about you...

The tech has no right to give his opinion no matter how experienced...I'll keep you in my thoughts. Looks like that post helps many, myself including. Timely.

Next time tell the tech to get you out a little earlier so you can buy me coffee.

Sometimes the waiting is the worst part of tests like that. I remember when my wife and I had a sonogram when our first child was late in coming the tech asked in a puzzled voice if all our other tests had been normal. This sent my wife into a cying panic on the way home. Everything turned out normal but the doctor had a heart to heart with the technician.

Eek! I hope all those troubles with tests and test results will be over soon.
You were right not to run without water of course!
