Pollyanna Rules!

Yay! My doctor called this morning to tell me he talked to the hematologist, and they didn't feel that they need to see me. They are going to prescribe some iron supplement that is stronger than what I can get over the counter, then check my blood counts again in June.

My doctor was also going to email the surgeon with the info - it'll be up to him to decide if he's willing to do surgery with the counts where they are now. I'm actually headed in this morning for the pre-op lab work, so that'll give him something good to look at.

See Rob, the Pollyanna view works! (Edited to add...so do the prayers and positive thoughts of friends and family!)

Whatever the heck is Pollyanna, it's nice to have it:)
I am sure you know about it that Iron gets absorbed only with certain vitamins/foods, and not with others (I believe Vit C is one of good for it).
Hope it gets stabilized and doesn't influence the surgery. Want some from me?

Pollyanna! Hayley Mills, Walt Disney movie 1960! Based on the novel by Eleanor H. Porter. (It was also an earlier, silent movie with Mary Pickford, but I've never seen that.)

"When Pollyanna is orphaned, she is sent to live with her crotchety Aunt Polly. Pollyanna discovers that many of the people in her aunt's New England home town are as ill-tempered as her aunt. But Pollyanna's incurable optimism - exemplified by her "glad game," in which she looks for the bright side of every situation - bring a change to the staid old community."
- Summary on IMDb

I'm SO GLAD your news is good news! :-) *jeanne*

I hope the lab work goes well and the surgeon has no problem going ahead with the game plan, or else I fear we might see a return of cranky pants.
