What a Week!

I will post a picture of the necklace once our new camera arrives. Someone took a spill with our old one in hand - see the video here - and we are now awaiting a new one.

I wrote my SF report while fuzzy and shaky after the late night hospital adventure - it seems a little dry when I read it. Believe me, it was a wonderful trip full of hysterical laughter, deep conversations, great running and lots of bonding. And, I cannot repeat the stories and conversations that occurred during our two long drives. You'll just have to trust me when I say, "You shoulda been there"!

Needless to say, I didn't run Tuesday morning. I napped and went to bed early that night, skipped running again Wednesday and Thursday. I drove to Yakima on Wednesday for my two days of meetings, and arrived back at home about twenty minutes before our Thursday night track work. I passed on that too. I made it in to teach Pilates Friday morning and then slept again when I got home. I finally got a five mile run in today - and boy, did that feel great! My stomach is still giving me notice whenever I eat, and I'm dehydrated, so I'm trying to drink a lot today. The general conclusion is that it must have been a food poisoning - probably from the cut fruit I ate that morning. That was the only thing I ate that nobody else had, plus no one else in the car got sick. I think if it was a virus, those twelve hours of close quarters would have infected someone else for sure.

The upcoming week will be focused on resting, fueling and hydrating with Saturday morning's 50k at Autumn Leaves in mind. I intend to get out for all my normal runs this week - except I'll only run once on Thursday instead of twice. I'm looking forward to another weekend of fun with Rob, Jenny, Steve and Eric.

I don't usually order pictures from races, but I had to get these: me and with Margaret and Jenny.

Great work at Nike! That Tiffany's Finisher's Necklace is the only thing that a runner could wear year round without getting weird looks. Although I think that if I ever get into Boston and finish it, I'd be wearing the finisher's medal from that for a month straight. A few of my friends on LiveJournal were also there at Nike, all of them finished without injury. Happy recovery to you!

Well done. Happy recovery!

An ultra... why does that sound so ominous and scary...

Sorry I still have not yet posted my stories from last weekend. It's 7:35pm and I just got home from post birthday party dinner with my brother's fam. and my parents. I am exhausted and my head hurts from my tooth so I am going to bed. Hopefully I'll get 5 minutes or so to write tomorrow!

I misread the post and thought that he was running and took a spill with your nike necklace. Huh? I couldn't figure it out.

I think it is time for bed.

That's got to be one of the best finish line photos I've ever seen. I'd buy up a bunch too.

Glad to hear that you're better, but I've never heard of anyone getting food poisoning from fruit. Hope you're over it by now.

That photo of you is great; I can understand why you had to get it.
